Kidmore End 10k Run - Latest Update 03.07.2010 at 10:00h

What we hope will become an annual event for serious and fun runners alike, is to take place on Sunday 26th September 2010 at Kidmore End Cricket Pavilion, Gallowstree Common, Reading, Berks.

This is a fundraising event for Kidmore End Primary School, and the proceeds will go towards a new adventure playground for the children.  We will also be donating a percentage of the profits to the British Heart Foundation.

  • The 10k Run

A stunning run in South Oxfordshire through an area of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’, not far from Henley-on-Thames.  Starting off at the Kidmore End Cricket Pavilion, the route will take runners through fantastic beech woods, towards Sonning Common and then the picturesque village of Kidmore End and return them to the Cricket Pavilion along bridleways and winding leafy country lanes.

The 10k run has been accurately measured and is open to all abilities with a few challenges along the way.

  • Children's 1k Run

The Kidmore End 1k children's race will start and end at the Kidmore End Cricket Pavilion. The route will meander through the woods, setting off at 9:45 a.m (for years 5 and 6) and 9:50 a.m (for years 3 and 4).

  • Refreshments

For the exhausted runners – and those spectators who remained behind to cheer them home – refreshments will be available.  As well as hot tea and coffee, there will be a BBQ, offering hotdogs and hamburgers.

Note: there are toilet facilities but no changing facilities on-site

  • Registration

Registration prior to the event costs £10 and all you need to do is complete the entry form and send it to us. Click Here For Entry Form.

Although the 10k race is likely to be well subscribed there may be a few slots left for runners to enter on the day.  On-the-day registration will be open at 9:00 near the Cricket Pavilion in Gallowstree Common, South Oxfordshire (between Henley-on-Thames and Reading), and will cost £15 for the 10k, and £3 for each child entering the 1k run.
